Self Catering Accommodation

Lunnon is a working flower farm of approximately 60 acres with land from the Higher Moors Nature Reserve to the sheltered Holy Vale area.

For several generations members of the Stideford family have lived and worked here, and this continues. In the nineteenth century there was a public house here - 'The Bridge' at 'London'. Over the years 'The Bridge' has disappeared and 'London' has become 'Lunnon' . But the tradition of welcome and hospitality remains.

For over a hundred years bright, early-flowering narcissi have been grown in small fields, sheltered from winter storms by elm and pine trees and tall hedges of pittosporum, and perfumed veronica and escallonia.

The first commercial flowers were sent to London in a hatbox, but although there have been many changes, we still harvest these colourful, scented blooms by hand and send them throughout the winter to many mainland destinations. Harvest-time (flower season) begins in late September and ends around the beginning of April, while bulbs are harvested throughout the summer.
